Description

A small run of these reproductions was produced in early 2021. These were reproduced using flat scan of an original Snap Jack control panel overlay and instruction card. We chose to UV print directly to acrylic as a way to be the most faithful to the original screen prints, while balancing total cost of a set.

There are a couple of other small differences in these reproductions vs. the original Snap Jack control panel artwork.

  1. Joystick / Button Holes – The holes are 1/16th of an inch larger in diameter. Universal machines have tight tolerances on their button / joystick fits, and the machines are known for small differences in production runs. To be better safe than sorry, we added a bit of margin to ensure that customers don’t have any issue with the overlays fitting on their panels.
  2. Bevel Thickness – Not many printers offer beveling services. The bevel on these reproductions is a 45 degree angle, and the bevel consumes about 1/2 of the material thickness. On the originals, the bevel was only through about 1/3 of the material / more surface level. A reasonable compromise.
  3. Color Orange – The orange in this piece is a little less vibrant / less ‘neon’. Orange is nearly impossible to match exactly when changing the printing technique to something other than screen printing.

These are NOT garbage reproduced from photos and laminated to the back of plexi. High attention to detail, buy with confidence in the quality of the items.
